Berikut ada variasinya, karya Ryan Hopkins: keterangannya: There are a few important differences between this and a conventional design. First, each pair of coils shares a common, toroidal core instead of two separate solenoid cores. Second,a diode and a ceramic capacitor are used in place of polarized electrolytic capacitors. Third, the spark gaps are replaced by gas discharge tubes, the first in the chain being triggerable. Fourth, the gas discharge tubes are placed in the physical center of the toroids. T represents toroidal inductor cores. I1 / I2 represent coil pairs wound on a common core. D are diodes. C are capacitors. G are gas discharge tubes. (First stage is triggerable) The placement of the GDT's in the center of the toroids is purposeful. remember that like signs repel - so the field generated by the inductors in each toroid should oppose the flow across the GDT until those field collapse. The end effect should be a shortening of the pulse width. successive stages should increase this pulse compression.
